What packages do you offer?
For weddings, we offer: Ceremony Only Package; Ceremony & Cocktail Hour Package; Reception Package. We can also mix and match or tailor any package for your event. For other types of events, we'll make a package that fits your needs!
What is your most common wedding package?
By far our most common package is the string quartet for ceremony and cocktail hour. This covers: 30 minutes of music for prelude (before the ceremony, as guests arrive), all the music for the ceremony, and music for your cocktail hour.
Are you a good fit for my reception?
We are a great fit for receptions such as brunches, lunches, garden parties, and events with no dancing or minimal dancing expected. While we've certainly had guests get up and dance at receptions we have played, we do not provide the loud club/party atmosphere that a full wedding band or DJ would provide.
Who are your musicians?
We operate as a collective of 20 highly trained musicians. All of our musicians have advanced degrees in music (masters degree or doctorate degree). All of our musicians were originally auditioned and selected for their ability to excel in both contemporary pop and classical music, and all of our musicians are experienced and trained in our specific music repertoire. Our musicians also know how to specifically handle playing at a wedding, which is a unique skill honed from experience.
What if a musician gets sick?
Because we operate as a collective of 20 musicians, if a musician were to get sick we are able to replace them with another from our collective. Our music will sound the same with any musicians from our collective playing.
What do you wear?
Our musicians always wear formal black.
What if I want a song that is not on your list?
While we have over 1000 selections, we don't have everything. If you would like us to arrange a unique string ensemble cover of a contemporary song, we are happy to do so. The fee is $40 per song if a new sheet music arrangement is required. If you or we are able to obtain existing sheet music for your song, then there is no fee.
What are your weather stipulations for outdoor events?
This is what our contract says regarding playing outdoors: Weather in the northeast can be unpredictable. We play on valuable, wooden instruments. In the case of rain or snow at an outdoor wedding, we cannot perform without adequate covering. Adequate covering is anything that will shield the instruments of all of the musicians from chance of water damage. Adequate outdoor heating must be provided if the temperature at an outdoor wedding falls below 50*F. We STRONGLY ENCOURAGE that you speak with someone representing your venue about their inclement weather plan. (It isn’t pleasant for you and your guests to be rained or snowed on either!)
What if it is sunny and hot?
We do not have any requirement for shade at outdoor events. We only care about rain on our instruments!
